There are two sides to the forwarding services, email & web. If you are only going to use your domain for email, then obviously you do not need web forwarding at this time, but it can be added later.

 

Email forwarding will redirect mail from your domain to your ISP account, ie john@domain.com would be sent to john@whatever.isp.co.uk.

 

Web forwarding works in a very similar way, it will redirect browsers from your domain to your free webspace, for example www.domain.com to www.whatever.isp.co.uk.

 

If you need both email & web forwarding, this can be simply arranged. This is all transparent to the user, and they will never see past domain.com, for example.
